Ms. Jones has appeared in film, on TV, and on the stage. An award-winning regional theatre actress, she has appeared on Another World, As the World Turns and The Guiding Light. Kitty writes, choreographs, and performs all her own original material for Kit’s Interactive Theatre.

For Children ages 2-3 years with an adult. Toddler Sing-a-Long is a social and language experience for two and three year olds with an adult. At this age, children enjoy singing familiar songs and reciting familiar rhymes. In doing so, they build confidence and reinforce developing language skills. In addition, two and three year olds are increasingly interested in their peers; sing-a-longs are group activities that are well matched to their developmental level. During the sing-a-longs, children and their grown-ups sit together in a circle while a member of the Children’s Department staff leads the group in singing and reciting common songs and nursery rhymes.

King Arthur and the Riddle of the Dark Knight- A knight in shining armor is coming to the library! On July 15th, at 7:00 pm, dressed in a real suit of shining steel armor, a medieval knight and his trusty squire will come to the Middletown Township Public Library. With help from the audience, the knights embark on a quest to reenact a classic tale about King Arthur- with a few fun twists! Throughout the interactive storytelling are opportunities for kids to uncover tons of amazing facts about knights! Ms. Bonnie, our resident artist, will demonstrate a step-by-step approach to drawing dogs, as well as shading, designing and coloring background. These concepts can be applied to drawing other animals too!

Mother Goose

“Mother Goose” is an early language, literacy, and social experience for infants and toddlers with their parents and caregivers. Children will sit on their grown-ups' laps to share songs and rhymes and to participate in a brief book sharing experience. Afterwards, we’ll have a social time with toys and books. This first group experience provides infants and toddlers with an opportunity to learn to enjoy being with other children and to participate in parallel play.

“Mother Goose” also fosters the development of body awareness, fine motor coordination, and language skills. For Children ages 0-23 months with an adult.

Create a book this summer! With support and instruction from library staff, each tween will use Microsoft Word to brainstorm, write, and produce a book over the course of the program. Writers will receive a "bound" copy of their books at a special, invitation only "Writers Recital" at the end of the summer.
