Use the library's online resources to complete the Genealogy Poster Project for the Middletown 350 celebration.
Who: Open to any 8th – 12th grade student. Students may choose to work individually or as a group.
What: The history of Middletown is rich in its stories and heritage. In order to get to know our Town founders and notable residents in history please join us in participating in our 350 Year Anniversary Genealogy Poster Contest!
Guidelines: The Poster Must Include the Following:
> Name of a Resident from the Township of Middletown (or any of its villages)before 1900
> Birthdate and Birth Location of the resident
> Genealogy of the resident
> Notable stories or information you know about the family history
> Creative Art Work
> 16” x 20” poster (not on poster board) has to be able to roll up
> Use of any form of art medium for decoration is acceptable
> Identify at least three generations back for the resident
> Sources must be cited
Deadline: Posters must be completed by 5:00pm on May 23rd to allow for judging. Please bring posters to the Township Clerk’s Office at Town Hall, One Kings Highway. Completed projects will be on display at the Middletown Arts Center for the Time Capsule Preview Party and the Birthday Party and Time Capsule Burial on June 20th and 21st, respectively.
Judging: The Middletown Historic Preservation Commission will select the top three winners. Winners will be announced and awarded with a certificate at the Birthday Party and Time Capsule Burial on Saturday, June 21.
